The downloadable curriculum notes and results document has been prepared at a time of continuing national debate about what the children in our schools need.  At Dame Alice Harpur School we believe that pupils today have the same overriding need as pupils have always had: a learning environment which is stable, happy and reassuring.

Within our broad and challenging courses of study, every Dame Alice pupil receives, as a matter of routine, a curriculum entitlement which reflects the National Curriculum programmes of study.  She also has access to something even more valuable: the opportunity to discover her talents and to be the best she can be both within and beyond the classroom.


We find that this approach works well for our girls as you will see from our enviable examination performance.

In 2007, 100% of our girls passed their GCSEs with 99% gaining the A*-C grades.

In 2007, 99% of our girls passed their 'A' levels, with over 72% gaining the top A&B grades that are often required to gain a place at the girls' first choice of University.
