Charity

At Dame Alice Harpur School we have a strong ethos of caring, both for the wider community in our area, and also for people in less developed parts of the world.

All girls, in all years, are encouraged to learn more about charitable organisations and to choose one or more as a focus for their fund-raising. They then organise their own activities, which range, for example, from cake sales to a mini-Glastonbury festival. They gain a lot, both from the responsibility of organising events, and from participating in events organised by their peers.We are proud of their endeavours. Not only do they raise a great deal of money for good causes, but also there are numerous volunteers giving their time and talents by going out to our neighbouring almshouse, a local Lower School and a school for children with special needs.
