Costa Rica Adventure

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for students who are interested in wildlife, natural features such as volcanoes and waterfalls and have a sense of adventure. This tour is organised by EF Educational Tours, a reputable schools' tour operator.
Costa Rica is seen as a tranquil haven and a nature lover's paradise. This small, beautiful, country, located on the narrow isthmus between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, is renowned for the great diversity of its tropical habitats, its dramatic volcanoes and its rich wildlife. National Parks or Wildlife Refuges protect approximately 25 % of the land. We will have the opportunity to explore many areas, from the rain forest through the cloud forest to the dry forest.
We can marvel at the volcanoes and soak in the thermal springs watching hummingbirds drinking nectar, amazing butterflies, howler monkeys and brightly coloured birds. The Manuel Antonio National Park is known for its lush vegetation, diverse wildlife and sandy shores. To see the jungle from the top of the rainforest canopy, then a breathtaking and unforgettable Canopy Tour in Santa Elena Cloud Forest, is a must. Finally, to fulfil our need for action and adventure, we will be kayaking on Lake Arenal and our last day will be spent white water rafting.
Our itinerary, in brief is as follows:
Day 1 Fly to San Jose
Day 2 In Bioparque Centre to learn about Costa Rica's rich biodiversity, Poas Volcano, Botos Lake and hot springs.
Day 3 Kayaking on Lake Arenal and La Fortuna waterfall.
Day 4 Monteverde Reserve, one of the most beautiful of the mystical Costa Rican jungles. Visit a local school.
Day 5 Santa Elena Cloud Forest, tree planting and the Canopy Adventure.
Day 6 Carara Reserve, host to a dazzling array of exotic birds and animals.
Day 7 Manuel Antonio National Park, home to both the squirrel monkey and the two-toed sloth.
Day 8 Picturesque Sarchi and Fiesta night with marimba music and local dancing.
Day 9 White-water rafting expedition
Day 10 Depart for London
Day 11 Arrive in London
