Cross Country

Cross-country went from strength to strength again in 2006/7. The season began with the first round of the English Schools' competition held at Sharnbrook Upper School. We competed in the local competitions, performing well both as a school and as individuals.

Harriet Brettle and Holly Cakebread qualified to compete at the County competition at Ampthill Park and, as a result of their success there, they qualified to represent Bedfordshire at the National competition. The highlight of the season was the event held at Rowney Warren.

The afternoon started very wet and we all squeezed in the minibus to keep dry. Thankfully, the rain stopped so we walked the course dry. All years took part in teams of three. We took part in a charity initiative to raise money for Children with Leukaemia. We raised a tremendous amount of £170.28.

Well done all for the hard work and training. I look forward to the 2007/8 season.
