Sixth Form Ecology Field Course

Departing 25th August 2010 for 7 days.

Fieldwork is an integral part of the Biology A-level course, and this week-long field course in Wales offers pupils an excellent and stimulating environment in which to cover the ecological components of the course.

As in previous years we will travel to Wales by coach and stay at the Orielton Field Centre, Pembroke, Dyfed, where we have access to diverse habitats, good facilities and excellent teaching staff.

Pupils will have the opportunity for detailed study of the following environments:

  • a sheltered rocky shore;
  • an exposed rocky shore and small sandy beach;
  • a sand dune ecosystem.

Both pupils and staff have previously found this to be an enjoyable and valuable week of fieldwork.
