PTA Wine Tasting Evening
The PTA Wine Tasting Evening on 23d November was another PTA success (thanks to Yvonne and her team). The vintner was informative about the wines tasted and we had to guess the prices but were invariably wrong. Thirteen wines were tasted and, as the evening progressed, so obviously did the wine consumption (not everyone used their wine dregs jug)! Fortunately cheese and biscuits were on hand to help soak up the alcohol. There was a good turnout and a fun evening was had by all.
Junior School Hog Roast
A fabulous sunny afternoon after a great deal of rain on previous days meant a successful family event in the beautiful grounds of the Junior School. Over 300 staff, girls (old and new), sisters, brothers, grans, granddads and friends joined us for a relaxed afternoon, where adults could meet and chat, and children could get together to play on games such as 'Four in a Row', Giant Skittles, bouncy castles, with skipping ropes, and wobble boards. This is now an annual event in the Junior School calendar and a wonderful way to begin the year.
Family Race Night
A fun evening of cheering the horses on to victory was combined with a Fish or Chicken and Chips supper for this relaxed event held in the Dining Hall, although, judging by the noise level during races, no one was completely relaxed whilst their horses were competing! Bottles of wine went to winning horse owners and a raffle ensured the evening raised good money for the School. Watch the programme for next year - it may be ferrets or snails racing!
