LTA President Cathie Sabin OBE visited Bedford Girls’ School on Wednesday (9th March), along with the Davis Cup Great Britain won in November.

The LTA’s first female president, Cathie was made an OBE in 2015 for her services to sport, after working as a PE teacher for many years and latterly in tennis.

BGS was honoured to have Cathie come in and watch in the sports hall as the Junior School girls played in a competition.

Many of these girls were keen to ask Cathie a range of questions – and of course get their hands on the Davis Cup, which GB won for the first time in 79 years by beating Belgium before Christmas.

After some keenly fought matches on court, the girls were all presented with medals by Cathie and had their photos taken.
